it scares me that you never know what someone is thinking or feeling towards you and everything that they say could be one massive lie

When I say “please don’t take a picture of me” it’s not because I’m being bitchy and stubborn, it’s because if I see that picture I will seriously feel so bad about myself and think I am the ugliest thing on earth and sink a little deeper into self consciousness and hatred.

thank you

and before anyone says anything about selfies- those are controlled photos.

Five-year-old Navajo boy sent home from school for his long hair
A five-year-old boy who is a member of the Navajo Nation was sent home from kindergarten for having long hair.April Wilson said her son, Malachi, was excited for the first day of school on Monday at F.J. Young Elementary in Texas. But he was disappointed when he was told the length of his hair violated school policy.

Don’t you love how much “freedom” we have in this country

In my elementary school guys couldn’t have hair reaching their collars, high school boys are just this year allowed to have their ears pierced, and we can’t have “unnatural” colored hair. Texas is great.

I’ve seen so many stories lately about this kind of bullshit at schools. I cannot believe that parents put up with this kind of garbage. Hopefully, the parents can enroll him somewhere else that is more understanding. I just hope they don’t cut his hair, that’s not okay, and it’s imperative he is able to hold onto his culture and not surrender it just because of some bonehead policy some stuffy assholes put into place.

How about…we stop giving a shit how kids look or grow their hair and worry about what they’re learning?
